In case some of our readers are not familiar with the Nikola Motor Company, let’s go through some history, shall we? Nikola Motor Company is an American hybrid truck design company based in Phoenix, Arizona. Besides the automotive industry, the company works on research and development operations. Nikola Motor Company was founded back in 2014, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and, like you already guess it is named after famous Serbian inventor Nikola Tesla.
So far, the company developed the Nikola Zero, One, Two, and Tre electric vehicles. Also, there’s a military all-terrain spin-off of the Zero model called Nikola Reckless. Now, if we are all a bit more familiar with the company, let’s see what they offer with for the Nikola Badger Electric Pickup.

Nikola Badger Electric Pickup Design
The upcoming Nikola Badger electric pickup will be presented this year in September. The design language is very aggressive, with a sturdy front bumper and an integrated LED light bar. Also, the pickup gets a unique grille, alongside daytime running lights. If you were thinking, ” I saw this already somewhere?”y you’re right. The same lights are on the GMC Sierra. On the backside, you’ll notice a bulging hood and plastic fender flares.
Moreover, the curvaceous bodywork is added, flush door handles, and angular accents on the rear doors as well. Besides these features, worth mentioning are an illuminated side skirt and a contrasting upper body. Likewise, the vast Nikola logo on the backside is a very eye-catching feature. As for dimensions, the Badger will measure 232 inches long, 85 inches wide, and 72.8 inches tall.
So, in terms of size, the forthcoming Nikola’s electric pickup will be longer and wider than the Chevy Silverado 1500. However, the Chevy is a lot taller truck. The interior offers a unique steering wheel and a very digital instrument cluster behind it. The infotainment system is to the right, above the center stack.

Engine Specs, Driving Range
The Arizona-based automotive company didn’t offer a detailed specification for the Nikola Badger electric pickup. However, the fuel-cell and battery-electric versions are available. The EV version will use a 160 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which provides a driving range of around 300 miles. On the other hand, the fuel-cell variant comes with 600 miles of driving range. The fuel-cell version includes an electric powertrain. Thus this impressive range is achievable.
Furthermore, the customers will be able to switch between the modes at the touch of the button. This is an excellent feature since the US hydrogen refueling infrastructure isn’t so impressive. Nikola claims that the Badger will have a peak output of 906 hp. However, the continuous output will be 455 hp and 980 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, the towing capacity will be over 8,000 pounds.
