During this year, we had a chance to see EVs of prototypes from Tesla, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar. Now, the American star-up company Fisker will introduce its electric prodigy – Fisker Ocean.
This vehicle will be one of the main competitors of Tesla’s Model Y. The electric SUV will be revealed on January 4 of 2020, and the production should start in 2022.

Fisker Ocean California Mode and Design
The upcoming Fisker’s electric SUV will present the exclusive “California Mode” at the Consumer Electronics Show. The company’s California Mode allows the driver to open nine windows across the vehicle’s exterior with a single touch of a button. Besides, this mode includes dropping all side windows, opening up a panoramic, solar panel-made sunroof, and dropping the rear window.
Also, if you like fresh air, but don’t like the full-on convertible configuration, the California Mode is just the right thing for you. Except for the entry-level model, all other versions of the Ocean EV will include the California Mode as standard. The company describes the Ocean as the “world’s most sustainable vehicle.
The electric SUV uses numerous green materials. For example, the carpeting is made from recycled nylon, sourced from discarded fishing nets. Also, the Ocean include the rubber adapted from waste created during tire making. As for the exterior, the vehicle will be 182.7 inches long (460 cm). Also, it will include a full-length solar roof.

Driving Range and Price
Recently, the Fisker company announced that the electric SUV Ocean would debut at the Consumer Electronics Show. The event will take place on January 4. Also, the Fisker confirms cooperation with Electrify America. This partnership will provide access to the largest open DC fast-charging network in the US.
For those readers who don’t know, Electrify America is an organization established in 2017. This company owns and runs a network of the electric vehicle charging station in the States. Electrify America is a branch of the Volkswagen Group of America. The company is part of the carmaker’s efforts to counterbalance emissions, following the great VW emissions scandal.
The electric Ocean will include an 80 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This battery provides a driving range of 250 to 300 miles ( around 400 – 483 km). However, the precise info regarding power or performance figures is still unavailable. One thing we know is that the charging time will be 30 minutes of fast charging. Good enough for a driving range of 200 miles.
The company state that the available sollar roof can provide up to 1,000 miles (1,610 km) of free-range per year. As for the price, the Fisker Ocean electric SUV will come with a starting price of under $40,000. Also, upon the release, the company will launch a mobile app-based leasing program.
