The E-Chassis is advertised as the world’s “first and only Class 3 electric platform”. But, the Bollinger didn’t reveal much about the upcoming heavy-duty architecture. According to the reports, the platform will be fully customizable, and it will include front-, rear-, and all-wheel-drive configurations.
The E-Chassis won’t be only ca-on-chassis architecture. Instead, the whole truck bodies will fit the new platform, which will be very useful in the future. Also, the platform can be adapted to suit various wheelbases. No doubt, with the impressive flexibility and ability, the E-Chassis will underpin most of the Bollinger’s forthcoming vehicles. The architecture will be able to accommodate 120 kWh and 180 kWh battery packs and provide a 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) payload capacity.
Furthermore, an integrated thermal management system and an independent front/rear suspension are included as well. On top of that, Bollinger’s new platform includes a hydro-pneumatic self-leveling suspension, stability control, electronic traction, and on-board charger with 5-15 kW capacity.
Bollinger B1 and B2 Engine, Driving Range
Besides the unique E-Chassis, the Bollinger vehicles will include two electric motors, that generates a combined output of 614 hp (458 kW/ 623 PS), and 668 lb-ft (906 Nm) of torque. That amount of power will enable the 0-60 mph ( 0-100 km/h) acceleration in just 4.5 seconds. The top speed is 100 mph (161 km/h).
Moreover, the total driving range will be around 200 miles (322 km), using the 120 kWh battery pack. The starting price for the B1 and B2 will be $125,000. These vehicles will enter the production in a couple of months. The starting price of the upcoming SUV and pickup models will be around $125,000. The placing of a $1,000 refundable deposit is now underway.
Bollinger E-Chassis Dimensions
The forthcoming Bollinger B1 and B2 models will have 15 inches (381 mm) of ground clearance, with 10 inches (254 mm) of wheel travel. Moreover, the hydro-pneumatic suspension with self-levering will be manually adjustable. As a result, the pickup can be lowered or raised by an additional 5 inches (127 mm). The drivers may shift between high and low range thanks to the column-mounted shifter. This shifter is linked to an electronic actuator and interlocks the electronic differentials via the dashboard-installed toggle switches. The Bollinger’s SUV and truck will include black paint and carbo-kevlar-treated underbodies, to reduce the damage while crossing the harsh terrains. Also, the adjustable windshield, doors, windows, and roof panels will provide excellent ride quality and comfort.
Interior and Price
As for the cabin, the SUV and pickup will include identical leather/cloth/vegan leather seats with heating. The cabin features IP68-rated light strips, ten 110v AC outlets, and water-resistant LED dome lights.
On top of that, you’ll find air conditioning, wood floor strips, and aluminum/chrome trim. Also, all interior elements are sealed and protected for forging water up to 36 inches (914 mm). Besides, the company patented a pass-through door installed in the dashboard, that connects the trunk to the passenger compartments. As we mentioned above, the B1 and B2 will enter the production later this year. The starting price will be around $125,000.
