During the General Motors presentation earlier this month, GM President Mark Reuss announces that the range-topping version of all-electric Hummer will have three electric motors. Furthermore, Mr. Reuss announces that when the electric Hummer hits the streets, it will offer 1-motor, 2-motor, and 3-motor versions. Also, the company will include different performance packages, and different starting prices, to meet the customer’s needs.
The upcoming model will come with a nameplate GMC Hummer EV, and it will be officially presented on May 20. Our readers probably already saw the awesome Super Bowl commercial, featuring King James himself. Still, to make the waiting a bit easier, the GM released teaser images of the vehicle. The first thing you’ll notice is the slender six-slot grille and LED headlights. Also, another noticeable feature is a rugged front bumper, as well as offset GMC badging.

GM Delivers Three Electric Motors For The Hummer
According to the company reports, first-ever all-electric Hummer will deliver 1,000 hp (746 kW/1,014 PS), and 11,500 lb-ft ( 15,574 Nm) of torque. Such power will provide 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration in just three seconds. Pretty impressive, taking into account the size of the vehicle.
If we understand correctly, the three-motor version will generate the one-thousand-horsepower output, as shown in the mentioned commercial. Now, what remains is to show the process of installation of the three electric motors in the Hummer pickup. We assume that the single-motor version will come with an electric motor at the rear axle, while the two-motor variant will have electric motors on both rear and the front axles.
On the other hand, the setup for the range-topping is a bit harder to guess. One solution might be an electric motor powering one axle, and two separate motors independently powering the remaining wheels. But, we must wait for the additional details regarding the engine room. As for the exterior design, the GM brings sculpted hood, and squared-off mirrors as well. Also, the first electric Hummer will include roof-mounted lights. This feature will remind many of the traditional H2 design and recognizable style.

First All-Electric Hummer – Release Date and Price
As you probably saw in the Super Bowl commercial, General Motors introduces the “Quiet Revolution” concept for the all-electric pickup. If that is the case, the upcoming Hummer will provide the maximum level of comfort to the passengers and excellent driving experience. But the competition will be fierce.
According to some reports, Tesla is planning a three-motor variant of already-famous Cybertruck. However, the layout is still a mystery for the automotive audience. The groundbreaking all-electric Hummer will be revealed on May 20. The sales will start in the fall of 2021. The official price is still unknown. But, be assured that we will inform our reader when GM announces the starting prices.
