The upcoming 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is official. However, the brand’s first electric SUV won’t become available in the next two years. It is a model that will reach the American shores at some point in 2023, and it will ride on GM’s modular EV architecture. Moreover, Lyriq SUV will offer a brand-new lithium battery pack. It is the first vehicle that will deploy this type of technology.

The brand-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will wear a couple of recognizable styling cues. However, Cadillac will look to offer a unique SUV that features very dynamic and modern styling. That includes vertical headlights that will become available on the brand’s new vehicles, not just SUVs. According to GM, Lyriq represents the next step of Cadillac’s styling.
The front fascia looks distinctive, with an illuminated logo and bolder grille lines. However, Lyriq couldn’t escape from the design of the previous generations of vehicles. Still, its appearance is innovative. Lower sloping roofline provides a sportier look. The rear section hosts sharper angles on taillights.
Interior Features Large Infotainment Display
The interior of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will feature a large 33-inch LCD display. It is the highlight of the cabin, and GM claims that this unit can display over a billion colors. The interior is minimalistic, and it comes with fewer buttons than some other company’s gasoline-powered models. We think the interior is sophisticated, some parts are looking very simple and clean.
However, some other stuff are looking futuristic, including the center console. Lyriq provides a new rotary controller and some other interesting features. For example, the newest version of the Super Cruise is available. GM likes to call it a “hands-free driver-assistance system.”
2023 Cadillac Lyriq Electric System and Range
The forthcoming 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is an all-electric SUV. According to GM, this SUV will offer around 300 miles of driving range. The credit goes to a brand-new battery pack with a capacity of 100.0 kWh. At this moment, the Tesla Model X Long Range Plus model is the best in a segment with 351 miles. Cadillac offers Level 2 charging with up to 19 kW. New SUV will arrive with a standard rear-wheel-drive setup. A performance-oriented variant will become available too, and it will offer a standard all-wheel-drive system. This high-performance will be four inches lower, and it will offer plenty of sportiness and more dynamic handling.
Price and Release Date
This model won’t become available in the next two years. That means the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will hit the dealerships at some point in 2023. On the other hand, some experts are suggesting late 2022 as the most probable release date. The price is not available yet, and it is hard to predict how much will new Lyriq cost.
