New 2022 Volvo XC60 is about to introduce a tweaked exterior design and additional interior updates. The XC60 model is a luxury compact SUV and it will hit the dealerships this summer. It looks attractive, but the styling will be additionally improved. The interior provides a room for five passengers and a very high level of comfort.
As you probably know, XC60 comes with an Android-based infotainment system and XC60 also offers a hybrid powertrain option. It is the T8 variant, but you can also opt for T5 or T6 versions with gasoline engines. We don’t know when will Volvo drop traditional combustion engines, but hybrid and all-electric powertrains are the future.
Volvo XC60 Specs, Transmission
The upcoming 2022 Volvo XC60 continues to offer three engine choices. Everything starts with the T5 model and its 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. Regular XC60 generates 250 horsepower and this engine comes with a direct-injection system. The T6 model comes with both turbocharged and supercharged engines. Thanks to that, the T6 variant can produce 315 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
Finally, this compact SUV is available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The XC60 T8 combines a regular gasoline engine with a hybrid system. This output develops 400 horses and up to 472 lb-ft of torque. No matter which variant you choose, an 8-speed automatic transmission comes as standard.
Exterior Design
The 2022 Volvo XC60 continues to offer premium design with plenty of elegant styling cues and features. The platform is unchanged, so the XC60 remains a compact SUV. Volvo offers plenty of trim levels and each trim level comes with a high level of luxury. If you want more sportiness, then the R-Design variant is the way to go. All trims are getting the same updates.
The XC60 model will get more chrome accents on the front fascia. Both the headlights and the grille are slightly wider and the taillights will get the same treatment. If you opt for the R-Design model, you will get premium 18-inch alloy wheels and plenty of gloss-black exterior features. Volvo should introduce new exterior paints and new optional equipment.
Interior Features
The interior of the 2022 Volvo XC60 is full of luxury. Everything on the inside looks very modern and elegant, so Volvo won’t provide major changes this time. There will be room for five passengers and the level of comfort is admirable. The list of updates starts with a new 12.3-inch display and a new leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Swedish manufacturer will also deliver upgraded shift leveler and updated infotainment system. Moreover, we expect to see more standard features and new optional safety aids. The XC60 SUV delivers 22.4 cubic feet of cargo space, but folding the seats will open up to 63.3 cubic feet.
2022 Volvo XC60 Release Date, Price
The price of the all-new 2022 Volvo XC60 will now start at about $42,500. It is a small jump in price, given the number of updates. The hybrid variant costs $60,000 and the most expensive variant around $70,000. The compact XC60 SUV will the markets late in 2021.
