The Japanese manufacturer finally confirmed the 2022 Toyota Fortuner Hybrid. This model will debut in the first quarter of 2022 and it will feature a hybrid powertrain option. On top of that, Toyota will add new driver-assistance features and much more. It is the next-gen model so we also expect to see various visual upgrades.
Even the interior will benefit from the latest changes. However, we are mostly interested in the specs of the new hybrid model. With all these novelties, the new Fortuner will be more premium, it will look more attractive and the interior will provide a better level of comfort.
2022 Fortuner Hybrid Redesign
One of the highlights is, of course, a complete exterior redesign. The 2022 Toyota Fortuner Hybrid is on its way and it won’t depart from the regular Fortuner SUV in terms of aesthetics. Toyota will provide a new ENE (Electronic and Electrical) platform. This architecture is a body-on-frame construction that will accommodate a hybrid setup. It is a huge step forward for this SUV.
Design-wise, the 2022 Fortuner comes with a more stylish appearance. The front fascia hosts a revised grille and new headlights graphics. Both ends will gain more chrome trims and we like those brand-new LED daytime running lights. The aerodynamics are improved and this SUV also comes with a more aggressive look.
New 2022 Toyota Fortuner Hybrid is also getting a new interior. The comfort will be better, along with the cabin layout. Generally, we think the Fortuner SUV offers more than enough interior room. However, a smarter arrangement and new platform will provide even more space. There will be three rows of seats and a room for seven.
Toyota will introduce a new 7-inch display, while the larger 8-inch unit will be optional. All of the trim levels will gain the same improvements, but we also expect to see more driver-assistance features. Thanks to that, Fortuner SUV will be more modern and it will also offer better safety.
Two Hybrid Systems Are in the Offer
The third-gen 2022 Toyota Fortuner Hybrid will ride on the new ENE architecture. Toyota’s chief engineer confirmed the new hybrid setup, but he refused to provide more details. At this moment, we know the Fortuner Hybrid will offer two hybrid setups. The entry-level model will use a mild hybrid system.
On the other hand, upper trim levels will offer a more potent configuration. The specs are not available yet, unfortunately. However, both versions will use a diesel engine, most likely a 2.8-liter unit. This is not official yet, so we are waiting for Toyota to reveal the exact Fortuner Hybrid specs.
2022 Toyota Fortuner Hybrid Release Date, Price
The forthcoming 2022 Toyota Fortuner Hybrid will hit the markets in the first quarter of 2022. The next-gen model is coming and the price will jump, thanks to the numerous changes. Still, some details are not available yet. Toyota will reveal its new model in the coming months and the price should start at almost $50,000.
