The upcoming 2022 Nissan Ariya is the model that will cause a huge splash in the automotive industry. It is an all-electric crossover and perhaps one of the most significant projects in the brand’s history. We are not saying the 2022 Ariya will be an instant success. However, the first details are more than promising. The all-electric crossover segment is growing, with models such as Tesla Model X, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and VW ID.4.
Ariya looks modern, but it is not wild enough. That clearly indicates that Nissan plans to introduce a perfect vehicle for regular city drive. Nissan shared a couple of details so far, so here’s everything you need to know about this crossover.
2022 Ariya Looks Futuristic
So far, we have seen a couple of teasers and rendering images. However, those types of pictures are usually deceiving. The 2022 Nissan Ariya looks closer to the mid-size Murano model. It comes with a tapered side profile and higher shoulders. In reality, Ariya will be smaller than you think. Nissan says that the Ariya model will be dimensionally closer to the Rogue model.
That is larger than Audi E-Tron and smaller than Ford Mustang Mach-E. The styling is impressive, with smooth surfaces and glossy cues. Overall, we think the Ariya looks futuristic and very modern. Everything looks so dynamic, especially slimmer headlights and the full-width LED bar in the back.
Interior
The interior of the 2022 Nissan Ariya will look equally modern and futuristic. The flat-floor design will provide plenty of cabin room and you won’t find plenty of physical buttons on the inside. Instead, Nissan will deliver different touch panels where you can operate climate controls and some other things. 12.3-inch screens are dominating the dashboard and we expect a lot of high-tech systems to be offered as standard.
From what we saw, Ariya offers an interior that is in line with rivals such as Volkswagen ID.4. There will be room for five passengers and the interior is full of high-quality materials. Safety will be impressive too but we are still waiting for Nissan to reveal all details.
Nissan Ariya Specs
At this point, we don’t know that much about the 2022 Nissan Ariya and its specs. That includes the range, power, and charging time. Some details are available and we know that Ariya will arrive with both a single-motor and dual-motor setup. The single motor variant offers standard front-wheel-drive and it generates 215 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque.
The dual-motor version comes with an all-wheel-drive system and it can produce 335 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. As for the batteries, standard Ariya offers a 65-kWh unit. Moreover, there is a larger 90-kWh battery pack that will provide 300 miles of driving range on a single charge. Lastly, Ariya’s battery can be charged from 5 to 80 percent in 45 minutes.
2022 Nissan Ariya Price, Launch Date
