Hyundai will provide new halogen lights, along with the LED daytime running lights, finished in a T-shape. The rear section hosts revised taillights and redesigned bumper. The South Korean manufacturer will also offer new wheels. All of the trim levels will get almost the same refreshments.

The cabin design won’t change at all. The only thing that could change is more chrome accents and more high-quality materials on the inside.

Generally, the interior looks stylish, and comfort is above average for the segment. A three-level instrument cluster remains, just like the seating layout.  Santa Fe is a two-row SUV with a room for five passengers. However, a three-row variant is also available. Upper trim levels are providing more luxury, and you should definitely check Hyundai’s optional packages.

The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid will arrive in the coming months, and some details are already available. Interestingly, Hyundai will offer two hybrid powertrains. The first hybrid powertrain is a traditional output called the “Smartstream” engine. The second option is a plug-in hybrid system that uses the same Smartstream engine. Both variants are available with a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine. The electric motor delivers 59 horses, and a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery is available too.

Power goes through either front wheels or all four wheels. The first version produces 227 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The plug-in hybrid Santa Fe uses the e-motor setup with 90 horses. Moreover, it comes with a larger 13.8 kWh battery. While Hyundai didn’t specify the driving range, the PHEV version can produce 261 horsepower. Each hybrid model comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the CVT is optional.

Price and Release Date

The upcoming Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid SUV will arrive in Europe this September. However, the US-spec Santa Fe will arrive later in 2020. The price should start at around $33,000, or slightly above that. Santa Fe will rival Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Murano.
