2021 Honda City Review, Specs, Price

The upcoming 2021 Honda City is a hybrid car that is available in India. However, this model will also arrive in Malaysia for the first time. According to Honda’s CEO, the brand has spent four years working on a new technology that will provide better performances and higher fuel efficiency.

Finally, a new system will be available in the 2021 City, and we expect significant upgrades. Moreover, City will arrive with improved styling and the latest high-tech amenities inside the cabin. The sales will begin in the coming months, most likely before the end of the year.

2021 Honda City Refreshed Styling

The 2021 Honda City is a model that rides on the fifth-generation. The previous variant came with significant upgrades, but the 2021 City will continue with improvements, despite refreshed styling. This modern hatchback will get new headlights, and its grille is slightly wider. The front fascia will wear more chrome, and an LED lighting system is available on all trim levels. The rear part should get the same treatment with the new taillights.

To the sides, the City hatchback won’t change at all. That means this model will continue to ride on its standard 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. There are five exterior colors in the offer. That includes Radiant Red Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Golden Brown Metallic. Lastly, City Hybrid and gasoline-powered City models will look exactly the same.

Interior Looks Modern

The interior of the 2021 Honda City perfectly combines practicality and security. The cabin looks modern and is full of high-tech features. Honda will offer a couple of interesting interior color schemes. The instrument panel is modified, and new upholstery is available as well. Thanks to that, comfort is even better than before.

The hatchback will offer new systems, such as the Smart Key System, remote engine start, and keyless window remote operation. AC vents are redesigned, and generally, the City hatchback feels more luxurious than the outgoing model. On the other hand, the cabin design and its seating layout won’t change at all. That means the City model will once again offer a room for five passengers.

2021 Honda City Engine

The all-new 2021 Honda City will use an i-MMD full-hybrid setup. City model will use a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine in combination with two electric motors. Moreover, a lithium-ion battery pack is available, along with the brand-new CVT transmission. That means the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is gone. The engine itself can produce 96 hp and 93 lb-ft of torque.

However, thanks to the electric motors, the hybrid variant delivers 107 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of twisting power. Unlike regular City, the hybrid version comes with a new electric parking brake. Interestingly, the same hybrid setup debuted on the new Honda Jazz, and many car experts are impressed with Honda’s new technology.
