The forthcoming 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid is one of the most anticipated models in the pickup truck segment. Besides the hybrid powertrain option, Ford will provide significant changes. That includes the exterior redesign and a new interior. The Blue Oval will stick to its design language, so the latest changes are not so visible at first glance.
However, if you take a closer look, you will spot all of the updates on the new F-150 pickup. The hybrid variant won’t depart from the regular gasoline-powered F-150 in terms of appearance. The only big difference is performance. Ford will introduce the same number of trim levels, and sales will start by the end of 2020.
2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid Exterior Upgrades
The visual changes are significant, but it may not look like it at first look. The upcoming 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid will feature a lot of visual upgrades. The manufacturer opted for an approach that you can spot on the Porsche 911. Evolutionary tweaks are everywhere. New body panels are available, along with the redesigned hood and doors.
Thanks to that, arriving pickup truck looks refined and refreshed. Moreover, Ford will tweak the headlights and taillights. Interestingly, but Ford is offering up to 11 different grilles and various wheels options. Two-tone paint is optional, and new exterior colors will also happen.
Cabin Looks Very Modern and Comfortable
The interior of the new 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid will also feature some big changes and updates. Again, some of the changes are barely visible, and the feeling is that nothing significant changed. On the other hand, the cabin looks very modern and comfortable. The biggest upgrade is a 12.0-inch touchscreen. On top of that, the optional digital instrument cluster is new, and it looks incredible.
Down below, Ford opted for a new layout of the climate controls. The center stack looks elite in our opinion. If you want more equipment and more luxury, we’d recommend King Ranch and Limited trim levels. Leather upholstery is impressive, and it provides great comfort. The cabin wears more chrome accents, and the build quality is better too.
2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid Engine Specs
The highlight of the 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid is its gas-electric powertrain option. The Blue Oval manufacturer expects around 10 percent of improved performance. The hybrid variant uses the “PowerBoost” technology. It is a mix of a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and the 35-kilowatt electric motor. A 1.5kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack is also available. A smaller battery suggests a limited electric range, but larger batteries will be optional.
The arriving F-150 Hybrid will tow up to 12,000 pounds. The system is similar to the setup that you can see in the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring or Ford Explorer Hybrid models. We are still waiting for the official performance specs. Besides that, Ford offers the onboard generator with 2.0 kW, 2.4 kW, and 7.2 kW capacity. There are also two 120-volt outlets so you can use the new F-150 Hybrid as a mobile generator.
Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid will be available in six trim levels. The price of the entry-level model starts at around $36,000. On the other hand, the price can reach almost 75,000 with ease. The sales will begin by the end of 2020, most likely this fall.
