The upcoming 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid is becoming available later this year. This plug-in hybrid model should represent one of the most popular buying options in the segment. Indeed, Blue Oval doesn’t have that much room for improvements in terms of design and interior. However, Ford promised various updates and that includes new color options.
Moreover, appearance package or special edition is very likely to happen. Escape offers two turbocharged engines but the hybrid powertrain is something you should really consider. Escape offers a quiet ride and a very modern tech-rich interior. Here’s what the 2021 Escape Hybrid has to offer.

2021 Ford Escape Hybrid Upgrades
The Escape model went through a complete redesign last year. Now, the 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid won’t offer that much upgrades. This compact crossover looks fresh so we expect for 2021 model to arrive as a carryover. The fourth-gen Escape offers a high-riding hatchback appearance that looks very modern and stylish. Blue Oval opted for a more rounded bodywork with sleeker headlights and taillights.
Escape also looks sporty, especially the SE Sport Hybrid model. This version adds 19-inch black-painted wheels with various black trims. Overall, the hybrid version won’t depart from the regular Escape in terms of styling. This compact crossover rides on Ford’s C2 platform that also underpins the Europe-Spec Kuga model.
Interior Features
The 2020 Escape arrived with significant interior upgrades. That means the 2021 Ford Escape won’t be changed significantly. The interior looks very sleek and modern. Blue Oval offers a cleaner setup of the dashboard with fewer buttons and controls. Moreover, Escape comes with a rotary shifter and a new dash-mounted touchscreen.
New horizontal lines are looking stylish and the instrument panel now features a thinner design. Compact crossover provides up to 65.4 cubic feet of cargo space and safety ratings are impressive. The new model will only gain new equipment, mostly driver-assistance aids that will be optional on the base trim level.

2021 Ford Escape Hybrid Powertrain Specs
The forthcoming 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid will deploy a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with the electric motor/generator. Moreover, this output comes with a 1.1-kWh battery pack and a continuously variable transmission.
Hybrid setup generates 200 horsepower and it will provide around 40 mpg combined. The plug-in Escape will also offer about 30 miles of the all-electric range. This version is available in SE, SEL and Titanium trim levels. Besides that, regular Escape comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 180 hp. Optional 2.0-liter turbo-four is good for 250 horses and 275 lb-ft of torque.

The pricing list is not available yet. However, we don’t expect any changes in terms of price. That means you can get a new 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid for about $31,000. As for the regular Escape, this compact crossover starts at $26,000.
The range-topping trim level is almost $40,000. Escape crossover will rival new Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, and Mitsubishi Outlander models. Ford planned to release a new Escape this fall. However, the pandemic will surely force the Blue Oval manufacturer to reschedule its release for the beginning of 2021.
