The upcoming 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV will arrive with mid-cycle refreshments. That includes both exterior and interior upgrades. Bolt EV arrived in 2020 with an additional 21 miles of driving range. For that reason, we don’t expect improvements in terms of performance. The subcompact hatchback continues in the same manner as before.
However, a new super cruise driving system could be in the offer for 2021. On the other hand, Bolt EV won’t change in terms of dimensions, and its five-door configuration will remain. Chevrolet already announced that the launch of the Bolt model is rescheduled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV First Look
The approaching 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV is a subcompact hatchback. It offers a five-door body style and is 164 inches long. Thanks to that, Bolt is so easy to park and maneuver in tight spaces. Thanks to a taller roof and rear hatch door, Bolt EV comes with a crossover-like appearance. For 2021, changes are far from significant. This hatchback will get revised front fascia.
Moreover, the rear section will also gain small visual improvements. We’d strongly recommend the Premier trim level that looks more premium. It comes with body-colored features and additional chrome materials. Chevrolet will introduce new exterior paint for 2021, and Bolt will continue to ride on its 17-inch wheels. GM Gamma 2 platform will underpin the new 2021 Bolt EV once again.
Interior Is Practical
The 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV comes with a spacious and practical interior. The build quality is impressive, but Bolt hatchback still lacks a couple of things. There is still hard plastics that both feels and looks cheap. On the other hand, Bolt offers a lot of high-tech amenities, including a crisp and modern touchscreen. While Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, built-in navigation isn’t. For 2021, Bolt EV will get new seats.
This should provide even better comfort. Besides that, the revised dash layout is visible at first glance. Thanks to that, Bolt will be a more comfortable hatchback with even better cabin practicality. Lastly, small hatchback could get GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving systems. However, this is still just a rumor.

2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV Engine Specs
New 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV won’t get any type of improvement in terms of performance. The 2020 Bolt arrives with an additional 21 miles of driving range. This hatchback offers an AC synchronous electric motor and a 66-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
Total output is rated at 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Bolt EV takes nine hours to fully charge using a 240-volt outlet. However, fast-charging is available. Bolt hatchback can ride for 259 miles on all-electric power, which is in line with the rest of the competition.

Price and Release Date
The production of the 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV started at the GM Lake Onion plant in Michigan. Bolt was supposed to arrive this September, but the Coronavirus outbreak will move its launch date. The changes for 2021 are minor. However, the 2022 Bolt will get more significant upgrades. Moreover, Bolt EUV crossover will be introduced for the first time. The price remains intact, which means the 2021 Bolt EV is available for $38,000.
