The all-electric 2021 BMW iX3 has been unveiled a couple of days ago. This crossover will arrive in the United States, along with the iNext and i4 models. As for the iX3, it looks almost the same as its original concept. It is the brand’s first electric crossover ever, and it will also reach the dealerships in China. It is an amazing model that looks incredibly stylish, and it provides plenty of luxury on the inside.
The performances are very good, and BMW will also upgrade the vehicle’s mechanical parts. The iX3 is joining the X3 lineup which already includes models powered by diesel, gasoline and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The sales will start before the end of 2020.
2021 BMW iX3 Design Is Truly Impressive
BMW planned this EV model for years and now is finally happening. The upcoming 2021 BMW iX3 is the company’s first all-electric crossover. As we said, it looks exactly the same as its concept that has been introduced two years ago. More importantly, models in China and the U.S. won’t look different at all. Design is truly impressive, especially with the brand-new aero wheels.
The wheels will provide a lower drag coefficient. A recognizable double-kidney grille is dominating the front end, along with the new headlights. It is a design that is based on the regular X3 compact crossover. However, the iX3 variant sits 2.9 inches lower.
Interior Offers High Level of Comfort
Just like the regular X3 model, new 2021 BMW iX3 will look modern and upright. BMW is known for creating incredible interiors with plenty of room and a high level of comfort. From what we know, iX3 crossover will be more luxurious than its gasoline-powered sibling. The new infotainment system is in the offer, along with the latest driver-assistance aids.
There will be room for five passengers, and even the rear occupants can enjoy ample legroom. Storage space is also generous. BMW will replace the 6.5-inch touchscreen in the X3 variant for a larger unit. The same display will be offered in the iX3. Automatic climate control, a panoramic glass sunroof, and ambient lighting are available as optional equipment.
2021 BMW iX3 Electric Motor Specs
The forthcoming 2021 BMW iX3 will offer an all-electric motor that generates 286 horsepower. Moreover, this output can also provide 295 lb-ft of torque. According to the German manufacturer, its small crossover will sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 6.8 seconds. A rear-wheel-drive setup comes as standard and top speed is rated at 112 mph. BMW will provide adaptive dampers as standard. However, the customers can buy sportier and optional M-tuned configuration.
The automaker paid special attention to batteries that will reduce the vehicle’s weight. Besides that, the battery pack will be very easy to charge. According to BMW, you can charge 80 percent in half an hour via DC fast charger. Unfortunately, we are still waiting to see the official driving range and some other specs.
