The German company desperately needs a compact four-door electric vehicle to stay competitive in the premium EV market. So, releasing of 2021 BMW i4 is a sure thing, as a part of the four-electric-car invasion that BMW is developing. All four of these future vehicles will be ready by the end of 2021. The starting price of the BMW i4 will be around $50,000.

We had a chance to see a couple of leaked spy photos of the upcoming vehicle, but the powertrain info is minimal. The BMW will probably go with two electric motors, standard AWD, and a battery good enough to provide at least 350 miles of driving range. The recently leaked spy shots show a pretty traditional shape of the vehicle, very similar to the ongoing 4-series Gran Coupe. The i-Vision Dynamics concept from 2017 will mostly inspire the design language. So, let’s see what’s visible underneath the heavy camouflage. We can see the influence of the revolutionary Vision Dynamics Concept.

Furthermore, the four-door coupe silhouette is slightly altered. Also, the angular c-pillar, a decklid with a ducktail spoiler lip, and front end with sloping hood are design elements. The front camouflage gives the illusion of the small kidney grilles. Still, the company might go with the concepts of massive conjoined kidneys instead.

But, most of the essential details are covered. We expect to see a large hatchback opening, like on the 4-series Gran Coupe. All in all, the BMW i4 looks production-ready, and we assume that the on-sale date will be soon announced.

2021 BMW i4 Interior, Release Date, and Price

At the moment, we don’t have much info about the 2021 BMW i4’s interior. However, we do know that the vehicle will borrow its underpinnings from the 3-series. So, expect an equally spacious cabin. The i4’s roofline is more exciting than on 3-series, offering a four-door-coupe body styling.

Moreover, it appears that the rear liftgate is more substantial, which opens and provides excellent cargo space, similar to the 4-series Gran Coupe.
