Plug-In Hybrid variant won’t depart from the base model at all.

Of course, the only difference is the charging port, placed under a flap under the left front fender. BMW 530e will also get a couple of refreshments upfront. The grille is bigger and the headlights are updated too. This sedan comes with standard LED adaptive lights but features such as sunroof are optional once again.

On the inside, a new sedan will get various upgrades. For a start, the 2021 BMW 530e Plug-In Hybrid will get a new 12.3-inch infotainment system with a finer interface. This system can be operated via iDrive click-wheel and gesture control is perfect.

It is a nicely equipped sedan that looks premium on the inside and it provides a high level of comfort. Features such as navigation, newest phone integrations, and various driver-assistance aids are all standard. That includes lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The upcoming BMW 530e Plug-In Hybrid will gain small performance improvements. A new brand’s sedan will get better acceleration, for the start. The 530e variant sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. That is 0.2 seconds quicker than with the current model. Powered by the 181hp engine, the 530e model also offers a 107-hp electric motor.

Total output has been rated at 288 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. This sedan will use an eight-speed automatic transmission as before. Last year, BMW upgraded its 9.2 kWh battery pack to 12.0 kWh unit. Now, BMW will provide faster charging. The current model can be fully charged in three hours. Lastly, the all-electric driving range has been rated at 21 miles.

Price and Release Date

The price of the 2021 BMW 530e Plug-In Hybrid starts at $59,000. The Xdrive variant will cost slightly more, around $61,000. The German manufacturer will begin with the sales this July. As before, this sedan will reach American soil.
