The upcoming 2021 BMW 3 Series Hybrid is a luxury sedan that should go on sale later this year. BMW knows that not everyone is after EV yet, and a hybrid is still a popular option in the automotive world. We think this hybrid model is perfect for plenty of reasons. Besides the luxurious cabin and fascinating design, BMW 3 Series Hybrid provides incredible performance.
The customers can choose between 330e and 330e xDrive plug-in hybrid models. Both variants are available with the same turbo-four hybrid setup. For 2021, we don’t expect major upgrades, especially in terms of exterior and interior. As for the price, this sedan will start at $44,500.
2021 BMW 3 Series Hybrid Design Won’t Depart From the Regular Model
As for the exterior, the new 2021 BMW 3 Series Hybrid won’t change drastically. Interestingly, but 3 Series is currently in the seventh generation. Still, the 2021 model won’t deliver anything new and it will look like its predecessor. BMW decided to deliver larger exterior features but the vehicle’s proportions are exactly the same.
The grille will remain intact which is a good thing in our opinion. If you want more modifications, high-performance versions such as 340i are offering a lower stance and more sportiness. The hybrid model won’t depart from the regular BMW 3 Series. Both models are looking sporty and beefy. Lastly, BMW offers 18-inch wheels as standard and 19-inch rims as optional.
Interior Offers High-Quality Materials
The interior of the 2021 BMW 3 Series Hybrid looks clean and elegant. However, the interior is far from something revolutionary. There is a room for five passengers and build quality is impressive. BMW delivers plenty of high-quality materials and we can say the cabin both looks and feels luxurious.
Soft-touch surfaces are everywhere and the seats are very firm and supportive. BMW 3 Series Hybrid comes with plenty of interior room, even for the adults in the back. As for the technology, this sedan offers a lot of equipment, including an 8.8-inch touchscreen with the latest infotainment system.
2021 BMW 3 Series Hybrid System Details
The forthcoming BMW 3 Series Hybrid comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. This unit is available in all variants, including the 330e and 330 xDrive. Solely, the gasoline engine can produce 181 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. However, the hybrid setup also includes a permanent-magnet electric motor that adds 107 horses. Moreover, it also boosts the torque ratings by 77 lb-ft.
Total output has been rated at 288 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. As for the fuel economy, the 330e variant provides 75 MPGe, while 330e xDrive up to 67 MPGe. The 3 Series Hybrid will also deliver 22 miles of all-electric range on a single charge. Lastly, there is a performance boost called “XtraBoost” and is available in the Sport mode only. It provides additional 40 horses so the PHEV version can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds.
