After the latest spy shots, we are stunned by the similarity between the new 2021 Audi E-Tron GT and Porsche Taycan. While some parts are looking incomplete, new E-Tron GT rides on the Taycan’s wheels. However, it is a recognizable Audi, once you see it, you just know it.
The car is based on the concept from 2018, and it seems that Audi won’t depart from the original idea. In terms of performance, the new E-Tron GT should deliver over 500 horses. On top of that, the driving range should be impressive as well. The sales will start by the end of the year.
2021 Audi E-Tron GT First Look
As we said, the new 2021 Audi E-Tron GT is very similar to the Porsche Taycan model. Two models are sharing almost the same shape, and E-Tron GT will ride on the same wheels as the Taycan. The front part looks like it needs more work as the radar sensors stand out more than they should in reality. Audi will stick to the original concept, so it is easy to recognize the new E-Tron GT.
The concept provides a crystal clear picture of the new model. The spied prototype comes with no real surprises, in our opinion. The conventional door handles and larger side mirrors are visible at first glance. While the front fascia is not finished, we believe Audi will deliver less flashy design than on the concept.
Cabin Provides a Lot of Luxury
We must say that the Audi stepped up its interior game. The last couple of brand’s models are nothing short of impressive. The 2021 Audi E-Tron GT will have the same faith, and it will provide a lot of luxury. While the interior details are not available yet, some parts are already familiar. The customers should expect a hefty technology package.
Everything starts with an 8.8-inch and 10-inch touchscreens. E-Tron GT will feature a fully digital instrument cluster, and the cabin won’t host many buttons. Audi will opt for recycled materials, and comfort will be admirable. Ambient lighting, wireless charging area, and leather upholstery should be available as standard too.
2021 Audi E-Tron GT Engine Specs
The concept from 2018 had up to 582 horses. The credit goes to two electric motors. Thanks to that, the new 2021 Audi E-Tron GT will arrive with a standard all-wheel-drive system. This model will sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds. On top of that, E-Tron GT comes with a larger 90-kWh battery.
The battery pack will provide enough juice, and this car will offer almost 250 miles of driving range. As for the charging, E-Tron GT will need 20 minutes to charge to 80 percent on a 350-kW fast charger. Of course, we are talking about the concept’s figures, and in reality, these figures should be lower.
Price and Release Date
The Coronavirus has delayed all of the car shows. For that reason, the new 2021 Audi E-Tron GT could arrive at the beginning of 2021. However, don’t be surprised if this electric car goes on sale by the end of 2020.
The price is not available at the moment, but brand-new Audi E-Tron GT should cost around $100,000. The price starts slightly below Porsche Taycan and its base model.
