Under the hood of the upcoming 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid will be a 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-Cylinder DOHC engine. This unit can produce 176 hp @ 5700 rpm, and 163 lb-ft @ 3600-5200 rpm. The electric motor by himself has a power output of 118 hp and 149 lb-ft of torque.
The Hybrid uses 255.8 V Sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride traction battery. The standard transmission is Direct Shift-8AT 8-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). Also, the gearbox includes Sequential Shiftmatic Mode.
There will be four available drive modes: ECO, Normal, Sport, and EV. The Avalon Hybrid is a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle. The front-wheel-drive is a standard, and the new model comes with a unitized body with front/anti-vibration sub-frames.
Release Date and Price
2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid comes in three different versions: XLE, XSE, and Limited. All three of them will use the same powertrain combination. The entry-level XLE comes with a starting price of $36, 900. But if you want Moonroof Package, you must add $1,000 to that price.
Next, the starting price for XSE will be $39.500. Of course, additional packages and equipment will raise that price of over $40,000. The top-line model and most expensive is Limited. This vehicle comes with an MSRP of $43,300.
The Advanced Safety Package is available, for the price of $1,150. The hybrid version will hit the markets shortly after the regular 2020 model come out. We assume that it will be ready before the end of the year.
